This is a piece that was done about “Wedding Disaster Stories” and how the Wedding Planner Saved the Day…

When Ricky said ”Yes”, Simon and she knew that the wedding will be held in Israel in about 9 months and started looking for a producer.

They started spreading the word about the wedding in Israel by email and telephone and hoped that all 30 guests will celebrate with them in Israel.

After several debates between different venues, a location was chosen: Jerusalem, in a private villa in Mount Zion Hotel, with 30 guests invited.

Two months before the wedding itself, Ricky’s mother fell ill and was admitted in hospital, while unfortunately on the groom’s side, the family and some guests suffered an economic blow and could not come to Israel because of the new financial situation.

Slowly the number of guests dwindled, and so the couple finally decided that the wedding reception will be held at their home, and in Israel they will celebrate the Chuppah, just the two of them.

And indeed, 9 months later the couple arrived in Israel. Adi, producer from Simcha Maker greeted them upon their arrival, and two days later the wedding ceremony was held in Jerusalem, accompanied by an Anglo-Saxon Rabbi and 10 Yeshiva students recruited for a Minyan from a nearby Yeshiva.

The Chuppah Ceremony was broadcast live to several members of the family and friends so they could see everything as it took place: the blessings, the rings, the glass breaking…

“There is no doubt that when I saw my mom watching me getting married, I felt like she was with me and I saw the happiness on her face” said Ricky. The illness of her mother left her in hospital for many months, but she never forgot the happiest day in which Ricky married.

The Chuppah was designed and set up, the live broadcasting team settled in, flowers interlaced, and a romantic candlelit dinner served by a private waiter awaited the couple following the ceremony. After dinner, the couple climbed to the second floor romantic suite, excited, tired but blissfully happy.

“We thought that because none of the family members would attend we would not get excited” said Simon, “but the production that escorted us step by step and even danced with us to the Chuppah, gave us the feeling that ’s more than special. The live broadcast of the ceremony proved itself worthwhile to use and to everyone watching us get married. There is no doubt that in 13 years, our child will come to Israel to celebrate his Bar Mitzvah on the land of Israel.”

We all know that making a simcha in the UK can be expensive. After searching online you may discover that celebrating a simcha in Israel is much more affordable, and that celebrating there would be very special. But, finding the right person or company to help you plan this can be hard.

We appreciate that deciding whether to have the celebration for the most important day in your or your children’s lives in Israel it is no small decision! How will you find the best venue? How will you ensure the design and layout is exactly what you envisaged? How will you get the most exciting band? Will your overseas guests feel comfortable? And most importantly, how will you cope with the Israeli vendors?!

Adi Porat-Tavor (Director) and her team at Simcha maker offer overseas clients all the comfort and answers you need to be able to plan your function in Israel, keeping you fully involved at all times. Simcha maker work with the best venues, caterers, designers, bands, DJs and other suppliers - so that you, your family and friends all have the time of your lives when coming to celebrate a wedding or Bar/Bat Mitzvah in Israel.

The Simcha maker team offers a high quality service, so that clients are satisfied at every stage of the planning. We make sure all contracts are translated into English; we negotiate competitive pricing with suppliers; we focus on attention to detail and presentation, and work hard to turn your creative ideas into reality; and we of course keep clients informed of developments every step of the way.

Together, with the passionate approach we take, the Simcha maker team give our clients total confidence when planning your event in Israel – so that you can arrive in Israel and just enjoy your simcha!

“We are trying to offer our clients a special simcha that they won’t be able to have back home”, explains Adi, event producer, “…the goal is to offer them an unforgettable experience that will stay with them long after the simcha is over”. The Simcha maker team have produced events in all sorts of unusual and beautiful locations, including by the sea, in the holy city of Jerusalem, in ancient synagogues and in a unique house in Jaffa. We make sure that the location and the simcha itself all match the client’s taste and budget.

With her wide production experience acquired from years of creating family dreams, Adi has put on many wonderful events for a wide array of satisfied customers, including local Israeli’s councils, charities, and corporate clients, as well as a number of family simchas – each time combining her exciting creativity with the natural beauty of Israel. Adi has a BA in Business and Sociology, and an MBA.

Come and enjoy your simcha in our beautiful country!
